For our bachelor’s thesis, we had the freedom to choose our own topic. The only requirement was to follow a service design process and use relevant methods to arrive at a final solution. My partner and I had noticed a growing dissatisfaction among citizens regarding urban development in Oslo, which sparked our interest. As a result, we chose to explore this issue further. We based our work on the Double Diamond process model to structure our approach and gain a deeper understanding of the topic. In the end, we delivered three outcomes: a comprehensive process report, a persuasive pitch, and a poster. Below, you can see the pitch for the service concept we developed.
Client:
Oslo Municipality (potential client)
My Role:
Writing, interviews, workshops, testing and more
Year:
2025
Service Provided:
Fully tested service design concept with an implementation plan
We ended up developing the service "Medvirkningskart" (Participation Map). This solution emerged through several rounds of insight gathering, prototyping, and user testing. We approached the service as a whole, considering every aspect to ensure that it is understandable, feasible, and ready for implementation. In the process report, you’ll find, among other things, a detailed service blueprint that outlines how citizens, Oslo Municipality, and developers should interact before, during, and after using the service to ensure a smooth process.
